Carly Christiansen
October 25, 2007
plug enough hush- hush gravel grits
highway here dark bush body slung
for the two pivot freeze pedal squeeze
shapeless graves drowned in local lake
knuckle grip bus canine tooth carves
crimped smashing sail calf flesh blood waves
family outs writer hammers temples-
- no research pressure pinched
Portia dog is abandoned stained
deciduously glass field traps
hap to trap six enslaved
strangers counter restroom rubbing
smiles raging alcohol bearded
wish raw body lurch
hair in fire pit buried rifle weary
...
Singing in stalls blue sinks of ink – from your hand stands still/ Crashing stains fall from reflection grains of days – await /advice/ sipping still wilts – add ice
Cleaning vice dusts in lunge white – ears wreck in silence built.
Carly Christiansen lives in Buffalo, NY. She has received her Bachelors degree in English with a focus in poetry from the University at Buffalo. She has been printed in Artvoice and is currently co-editing the Undergraduate poetry journal for the English Department. Her poetry focuses a lot on sound and the construction and deconstruction of words. None of her poems are personal; she is relatively detached from all of them though she does receive some inspiration from her 3 pawed cat Wooten.
